📰 News

Podcast: The Daily - A New York Times Podcast
Episode: “A Military That Murders Its Own Peopl‪e‬”
Host: Michael Barbaro
Guest: Hannah Beech | Southeast Asia Bureau Chief | The New York Times
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 35 min | 🗓️ 04/05/2021

This “The Daily” episode was the first news podcast I listened to this week and it’s the one that stayed with me the most. It breaks down the situation in Myanmar, two months after the military coup. In a very vivid way, the brutal military response to peaceful protests are described. It’s tough hearing about the killings of hundreds civilians, including children, however I think the least we can do is stay informed about the tragic events in Myanmar.

Don’t miss out on the rare occasion of Tim Cook being interviewed on a podcast! This “Sway” episode reveals that the Apple CEO considers privacy as one of the major challenges of the 21st century, contrary to other tech giants. Kara Swisher asks sharp questions about Apple’s latest privacy push, potential future innovations, including augmented reality headsets and autonomous cars, and removing the social media platform Parler from the App Store after the Capitol siege.

Episode: “How to Teach Your Custome‪r‬”
Host: Reid Hoffman
Guest: Ethan Brown | Founder & CEO | Beyond Meat
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 51 min | 🗓️ 04/05/2021

“Masters of Scale” is one of the podcasts I listen to on a weekly basis - incredible production, inspiring host, and fascinating guests. This week’s episode was no exception. It features the founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, Ethan Brown, whose mission has been to dismantle misconceptions about plant-based foods. He shares his way to success by obsessively listening to customers. This episode is valuable for people with interest in various topics, from entrepreneurship, to plant-based nutrition, health, and the environment.

🧠 Philosophy

Podcast: Naval
Episode: “All Knowledge Is Conjectura‪l‬”
Host: Naval Ravikant
Apple | Spotify | 🕰️ 3 min | 🗓️ 04/07/2021

Twitter is not my preferred social platform, however, if there is one account I truly enjoy, it’s Naval’s. He is considered a modern philosopher, focussing on the topics of wealth, mindfulness, and happiness. His podcast consists of short episodes that stimulate self-reflection and critical thinking. This week’s episode is about being skeptical of absolute certainty. I enjoy listening to Naval in the morning, for a mindful start in the day, and can only recommend to give it a try!
